Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are your balloons biodegradable?

Balloons made from latex are indeed biodegradable. Latex, sourced from rubber trees, naturally decomposes over time when exposed to environmental elements, including those that might end up in the ocean. The degradation rate of latex balloons is much faster compared to non-biodegradable materials like plastic, which can linger in the environment for centuries.

  • How far in advance should I book balloon decor for my event?

For custom balloon orders with special colors and themes, we recommend a 3-week advance notice for planning and ordering. Lights Camera Selfies offers a wide range of basic balloon colors, which can be found on our color chart in the last page of our pricing catalog..  https://irp.cdn-website.com/e349a7f8/files/uploaded/2023%20Pricing%20Catalog-f072a26a.pdf

  • Do you offer delivery and setup services?

Indeed, we offer set up and delivery services for balloons, making it a convenient choice for customers staying in Air BnBs or hotel rooms. We'll handle the setup before your guests arrive and return to clean up all the balloons and fixtures afterward.

  • What is your stance on balloon releases?

However, despite the biodegradability of latex balloons, I want to express my unwavering commitment to not provide balloons for releases.  Balloon releases, where many balloons are intentionally released into the atmosphere, pose a variety of environmental risks, even when using biodegradable latex balloons.

Allow me to explain some of the reasons behind my stance:

    1. Wildlife Hazard: Even though latex balloons will eventually breakdown in the environment, during their existence can pose a threat to wildlife.  Animals may ingest balloon fragments, leading to ingestion-related injuries or fatalities.
    2. Litter and Aesthetics:  Balloon releases can result in litter scattered across our beautiful city, harming the appeal, and requiring additional cleanup efforts.
    3. Alternative Celebrations: There are numerous creative and environmentally friendly ways to celebrate without restoring to balloon releases initiatives.
  • What is the cost of balloon decor for my event?

The cost of our balloon services depends on the time and complexity of the designs. You can find pricing details for our most popular items in our pricing catalog. We also enjoy taking on unique and challenging new design.  https://irp.cdn-website.com/e349a7f8/files/uploaded/2023%20Pricing%20Catalog-f072a26a.pdf

  • How long do balloon decorations last?

In South Florida, outdoor balloons typically last 6-12 hours, with darker colors having a shorter lifespan. In a controlled climate (A/C), our balloon designs can endure for 4-10 days. Helium latex balloons maintain their integrity for approximately 10 hours, while Mylar helium balloons can last up to a week.

  • Do you offer any special packages or promotions?

Our ongoing birthday bouquet promotion caters to daily birthdays. Explore our birthday bouquet page and choose from a range of options, with packages starting at less than $50. You have the flexibility to decide between pickup or delivery, and we offer various flair items that can be included as well.

  • What happens in case of adverse weather conditions for outdoor events?

Regrettably, if an event is canceled or altered within 48 hours of the scheduled time, we cannot offer a discount, as we would have already completed the inflation and design. In cases of hurricanes or severe weather, we monitor the storm's progress and inquire about rescheduling before commencing any inflation or preparations.

  • Can you help with event design and decor, including theme selection?

Our specialty lies in crafting custom balloon designs tailored to your event's objectives. We collaborate closely with clients to understand their vision. There is a small design fee, which, if an order is confirmed, will be subtracted from the overall project fee.

  • What is your policy on event cancellations or rescheduling?

While we strive to accommodate event changes, once inventory and props are ordered, we will deduct the design fee and item costs if necessary. If the event date is rescheduled for a later date, we will preserve the supplies and retainer for that future date.

  • Can you provide references or examples of past events you've planned?

Yes, many of our designs can be seen in our photo gallery on our website, but we can also provide references.

  • What is your payment structure and accepted payment methods?

At Lights Camera Selfies, we accept various forms of payment, including credit cards, corporate checks, Zelle, Venmo, and cash for your convenience.  A 50% retainer is collected for each project and final payment is due two days before delivery.
